Ministry investigates Japan Freight Railway Company headquarters
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism investigated the Japan Freight Railway Company headquarters in Tokyo on September 25.
The ministry conducted onsite inspections on three Japan Freight Railway Company railyards on September 11 before inspecting the headquarters.
Initial investigations found that 1,156 axles underwent above standard pressures during assembly and the company falsified reports with standard numbers.
The falsified documents were found in the process of investigating the freight train derailment that occurred at Shin-Yamaguchi Station in July.
The fraud was also confirmed in the derailed freight train.
