The Blue Impulse aerobatic team helped celebrate the centennial of the city of Kawasaki in Kanagawa Prefecture, southwest of central Tokyo.

Six jets that form the Air Self-Defense Force's demonstration squad performed in the sky for about 20 minutes on June 29.

On the ground, commemorative events took place all day in and around Todoroki Ryokuchi park.

They included an outdoor concert involving musicians with ties to Kawasaki and booths where visitors can purchase food from local restaurants or take part in sports.
