Bullet trains back in service on Tokaido Shinkansen line
Bullet trains resumed full service on the Tokaido Shinkansen line connecting Tokyo and Shin-Osaka stations on July 23.
Part of the line between Hamamatsu Station in Shizuoka Prefecture and Nagoya Station in Aichi Prefecture was suspended the entire previous day.
The suspension was caused by a collision between two maintenance trains in the early hours of July 22 in Aichi Prefecture, central Japan.
Central Japan Railway said 328 bullet trains were canceled between Hamamatsu and Nagoya stations, affecting about 250,000 travelers.
