Emperor Naruhito, Empress Masako and their daughter Princess Aiko checked out an exhibition featuring works by Belgian artist Jean-Michel Folon on September 9.

About 230 pieces made by the artist dubbed “magician of color” are on display at the Tokyo Station Gallery.

The emperor said that each work has a message.

The empress was asking what materials were used in the work.
