Osaka Expo opens with participation of 158 countries and regions

The World Expo opened in Osaka on April 13.

As the Osaka Expo venue does not have parking space, some drivers tried leaving their car at a nearby convenience store.

Police came to control the situation.

At the expo venue entrance, people formed long lines.

Restaurants on the site were also congested, with some placing admission restrictions.

The Air Self-Defense Force's Blue Impulse aerobatic performance and a demonstration of a flying car were canceled due to rain.

The 185-day expo runs through October 13 on Yumeshima, an artificial island in Osaka Bay, western Japan.
