Media get sneak peek of Osaka Expo

About 4,500 journalists from around the world got a sneak peek of the Osaka World Expo 2025 on April 9.

The USA Pavilion features immersive exhibits on the theme of space exploration and travel to the country.

NNN Correspondent Furuse Akari / There are many journalists here at the USA Pavilion. The main attraction is the moon rock.

The moon rock drew long lines at the 1970 Osaka Expo as well.

A different specimen will be on display this time. It is part of a stone that was collected in 1972, and is estimated to be about 3.7 billion years old.

The exterior design of the China Pavilion looks like a traditional calligraphy scroll.

NNN Correspondent Kato Saori / The main attraction here is also related to the moon. Visitors will be able to see moon soil on the opening day.

Soil that was collected for the first time from the far side of the natural satellite in 2024 will be on display on April 13.

Each country’s pavilion has its own concept and offers a taste of its culture and traditions. Meals that will be served were also unveiled on the media day.

The Saudi Arabia Pavilion’s design is inspired by the country’s traditional market.

Visitors can enjoy a course of traditional cuisine for 15,000 yen per person.

NNN Correspondent Abe Raiga / The spices are more complex than I expected. I’ve never tasted anything like it.

The expo will kick off on April 13.
