Japanese Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako attended an international youth exchange conference on October 2.

The program started to commemorate the wedding of Their Majesties the Emperor and Empress.

Attendees this year came from countries including Japan, Spain and Morocco.

They discussed climate change in English and spoke about what they learned in the countries they studied in.

Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako shook hands with each attendee after the debate.

During a subsequent discussion with invited delegates from each country, Emperor Naruhito said that climate change was a very important issue.
