400 new members of the Metropolitan Police Department’s riot police unit who were assigned this spring joined in a drill held in Tokyo on April 2.

The members worked in a scenario to suppress a group of protestors who attacked the riot police with Molotov cocktails and other weapons. 

They also worked in a scenario where they had to subdue a man who had attacked an important security facility.

The head of the Metropolitan Police Department's security division told the new members he expects them to perform duties with a resolute attitude as police officers and riot police unit members.
