NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang and SoftBank Group CEO Son Masayoshi discussed the future of Japan’s AI infrastructure during NVIDIA AI Summit Japan in Tokyo on November 13.

Huang said that companies and countries have a need to create AI and that NVIDIA will work with SoftBank to create an AI infrastructure as the technological innovation of generative AI progresses.

S/ Son Masayoshi, CEO, SoftBank Group/ Japanese government is not trying to, you know, depress this AI revolution. This is the catchup moment.

SoftBank plans to utilize NVIDIA’s newest technology and develop Japan’s largest AI supercomputer.

The Japanese company expects to combine AI with 5G to construct a new telecommunications network that can support large volumes of communication with efficient energy usage.

They plan to sell the developed technology as AI infrastructure to other nations in the future.
