S/ Mayor of Suzu Izumiya Masuhiro: We have received tremendous support and dedication from you for a long period of eight months.

Following the Noto Peninsula earthquake, the Self-Defense Forces responded to a disaster dispatch request from Ishikawa Prefecture, and a total of 1.14 million personnel were deployed in the affected areas until the end of August.

At the see-off ceremony held in Suzu on September 2, many residents visited the venue to personally express their gratitude to the SDF members.

S/ Resident: We were taken care of by the Self-Defense Forces.  We’re simply full of gratitude. It was fun, too.

The SDF members left Noto, accompanied by applause from the residents.
