Microsoft to enhance AI processing capability at data centers in Japan

S/ Satya Nadella, Microsoft CEO / Right here in Japan, we have two regions, both in the east and the west, and I'm really thrilled today to announce that we are expanding both the regions.

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella announced in Tokyo on March 27 that the major IT company will enhance the AI processing capability of its data centers in Japan.

He said Microsoft will introduce elements including the latest graphics processing unit, or GPU, made by NVIDIA to the data centers and offer more advanced AI processing capability to corporate and other customers in Japan from mid-April.

The move is part of the 2.9 billion dollar investment into AI infrastructure in Japan that the company announced in April 2024.
