Emperor Naruhito, Empress Masako and their daughter, Princess Aiko, attended on June 7 a concert by the Vienna Boys' Choir, often referred to as the singing angels.

The choir sang approximately 20 songs, including Austrian folk songs and the Japanese children’s song “Furusato.”

The imperial family took in the performance while looking through opera glasses, and at times they clapped their hands to the rhythm of the songs.

The imperial family also attended the Vienna Boys’ Choir concert last year.

Officials quoted them as saying the singing was truly wonderful this year as well.
