Princess Kako checks out Japanese traditional crafts

Princess Kako checked out Japanese traditional crafts in Tokyo on September 11.

The works were exhibited in an event held in a department store.

Princess Kako, who assumed the post of president of the Japan Kogei Association that promotes Japanese traditional crafts last year, chose two works from 1,000 artifacts to bestow the "President Award" and another award.

She spent about an hour contemplating 546 works including kimonos and vases.

She said that she felt drawn into the detailed lines of this work that received the President Award.

The princess also attended the award ceremony on September 11.
