ALERT:Typhoon Shanshan affects transportation across Japan
Japan Airlines announced on August 27 that it cancelled 45 flights to and from Kagoshima Airport and Amami Oshima Island due to approaching Typhoon Shanshan.
It also cancelled 81 flights on August 28, with the majority of them to and from Kagoshima Airport.
All Nippon Airways announced several flight cancelations for the next few days, with four flights scheduled to arrive Miyazaki and Kagoshima on August 28 being the first batch.
Other cancellations include 60 flights on the 29th to and from Kagoshima, Miyazaki, Tsushima, and Fukue, and four flights on the 30th to and from Miyazaki and Kagoshima.
Meanwhile, the Tokaido and Sanyo Shinkansen lines may be subject to planned service suspensions between August 29 and 31 for some or all sections of their lines.
Inbound and outbound service on the Tokaido Shinkansen line has been repeatedly suspended throughout the day on the 27th due to heavy rainfall in Shizuoka Prefecture.
