Nebuta Festival brightens Aomori
Enormous lantern floats depicting warriors and demons illuminated the streets of Aomori, Japan this weekend.
Locals hauled more than 30 of the giant floats through the city in the Nebuta Festival, which began on Saturday.
The annual event is one of the three largest festivals in Japan's northeast region.
One lantern float was more than five meters tall and nine meters wide.
Nebuta dancers help make evenings even more lively.
The Aomori Nebuta Festival runs until August seventh.
As many as three million tourists come to view the festival each year.
