Rakuten opens Shibuya café
Japanese e-commerce giant Rakuten is taking its first step into bricks and mortar.
Founder Hiroshi Mikitani opened the doors to Rakuten’s first café in downtown Tokyo today.
At the café, customers can taste the most popular desserts and drinks on the shopping site.
Free Wi-Fi and power outlets are available inside.
The café also offers tablet computers so customers can enjoy popular digital magazines.
Some even are available for free.
Rakuten says it hopes to introduce new audiences to its services and offer an additional marketing channel for merchants.
