Toyota stays on top
Toyota Motor Corp. is set to retain its position as the world’s largest automobile manufacturer for the second consecutive year.
According to company forecasts, Toyota sold more than 9.96 million vehicles in 2013.
These figures put the Japanese manufacturer ahead of General Motors, which announced Tuesday it had delivered 9.71 million vehicles over the same period.
Germany’s Volkswagen Group last week estimated its worldwide sales at more than 9.7 million vehicles.
Toyota’s sales were boosted by positive results in the United States and a rebound of vehicle sales in China.
