Lawmakers decide to decommission the troubled Monju Nuclear Power Plant, Japan's main facility designed to use recycled nuclear fuel, jeopardizing the country's nuclear fuel recycling plans.

これまで１兆円以上を投じた福井県にある高速増殖炉｢もんじゅ｣の廃炉が国の会議で正式に決まった。 一方、この会議では｢もんじゅ｣に代わる高速炉の開発は行うという決定もなされた。
