Japan’s Isuzu Motors pulled the wraps off a new biodiesel bus today.

The bus looks normal, but five percent of its fuel comes from a kind of freshwater algae.

The state-of-the-art biodiesel was developed by Euglena, a Japanese biotech venture named for the algae.

Isuzu and Euglena are aiming for a 100-percent algae-based biodiesel fuel by 2018.
