Ice fishing at the foot of Mt. Fuji
The US is seeing some Arctic weather, but it’s also very cold in Japan at the moment.
Some anglers took advantage of the cold snap to enjoy a bit of ice fishing today (Thursday).
The annual pond smelt fishing season began on a lake at the foot of Mt. Fuji.
10-degree temperatures didn’t stop the anglers from threading their lines through holes in the ice.
It was a good thing the smelt were biting, because it will take a lot of them to make a decent meal.
