Abe proposes ‘Robot Olympics’
Japan’s Prime Minister Shinzo Abe wants Japan to host a “Robot Olympics” alongside the 2020 Tokyo games.
Abe visited an assisted living facility today and viewed nursing care robots at work.
The prime minister is eyeing robots as a pillar of Japan’s growth strategy.
Abe has also scheduled a “Robot Revolution” conference this summer.
Officials are aiming to develop a five-year plan to bring robots into every corner of Japanese people’s lives.
