Abe recharges at New Year’s tea reception
Japan’s Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has a busy schedule this year, and he’ll need all the energy he can get.
Abe attended a New Year’s tea ceremony today (Thursday) at the house of one of Japan’s great tea masters.
Abe and two former prime ministers were served green tea by a 16th-generation tea master from the famous Urasenke family.
Abe said it was delicious and perfect for his case of jet lag.
Abe just got back from Africa, and is to visit Switzerland and India from next week.
With Japan’s parliament also meeting next week, Abe looked to be enjoying a moment of quiet before the storm.
