Child population hits new low
Today is Children’s Day in Japan, and the government announced record low numbers of kids in the population.
Officials say there are 16.33 million children aged 14 and under in Japan.
That’s 160,000 less children than last year.
The government estimates 12.8 percent of the population is under the age of 14, a new record low.
The number of children in Japan has decreased for 33 straight years.
