Construction industry aims to double women workers
Japan’s construction industry has found the solution to a labor shortage—boost the number of women workers.
Currently only three percent of Japanese construction workers are women.
Japan’s construction workers union wants to double their number in five years’ time.
The union says it will ease their path by putting in place women’s restrooms and changing areas.
Japan’s construction industry is currently busy rebuilding areas hit by the 2011 tsunami and getting ready for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
