'Devil's Night' in Fukuoka
Japanese people held what they call a "devil's night" at a shrine in the city of Fukuoka last night (Tuesday).
The event is 1,600 years old and is one of Japan's three big traditional fire festivals.
Participants hoisted a one-ton torch in the air and carried it around the grounds of the shrine.
People believe the sparks will purify them and bring them good luck and health.
