Extreme summer heat takes over Japan
Now that Japan’s rainy season is over, a sweltering summer has officially arrived to replace it.
High-pressure systems in the Pacific brought intense heat to all parts of the country.
In Nagoya, in central Japan, the temperature reached 86 degrees Fahrenheit in the morning, climbing all the way up to 99.1 degrees in the afternoon—the highest temperature recorded this year.
More than 100 areas in the country saw thermometers hit over 86 degrees. The extreme heat is expected to spike over the weekend.
