A resident of Akita City in northern Japan alerted authorities today to what appeared to be a small aircraft entangled in trees on a mountain.

Police and firefighters rushed to the scene.

They were relieved to find only a cluster of dogwood flowers in bloom.

This resident says she was surprised.

She says it looked like a light aircraft was stuck in the trees.

She says flowers never bloomed that way before.

Nearly 30 vehicles including police cars, fire trucks and ambulances arrived at the site.
