J-alert system updated for terror attacks
Millions of people in Japan will soon be able to receive warnings of possible terror and missile attacks through their cellphones.
The so-called J-alert system already provides warnings on earthquakes and tsunamis via Japan’s three major cell networks.
From April 1st, the system will also offer information on terror attacks and missile launches.
In the event of an emergency, a message pops up on the user’s cellphone screen along with an alarm.
