Japan sees third annual population decline
Japan saw its third year in a row of population decline last year.
The number of residents dropped to 127,290,000.
Japan’s government says the country lost over a million wage earners in the year through October.
The number sank below 80 million for the first time in 32 years.
People 65 and over made up more than a quarter of the population, also for the first time.
Japan is struggling to come up with measures to support the world’s fastest-aging society.
