Panasonic unveils ‘Toughpad’
Here’s a tablet computer that can take a beating.
Panasonic unveiled its new “Toughpad” today (Monday).
The tablet is water and soil-proof, and able to withstand a drop of about 10 feet.
It’s designed for people who work in severe environments such as firefighters, and can even be operated with work gloves on.
Panasonic stopped making smartphones for the public last year, and the Toughpad is its first tablet that can be used to make phone calls.
The new gadget can withstand temperatures from minus 20 degrees Celsius to a blazing 60 degrees Celsius.
Unfortunately, people can’t purchase the Toughpad in cell phone shops, as it’s only available for business customers.
