Tokyo governor visits Sochi with 2020 games in mind
Tokyo’s new governor says he’s ready for the challenge of hosting the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Yoichi Masuzoe, Tokyo’s governor since February 9th, was in Sochi to view the games firsthand.
Masuzoe watched the women's speed skating competition and met with International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach.
Masuzoe told reporters he was able to build connections as Tokyo begins to prepare for the 2020 summer games.
Masuzoe became governor in a special election after the previous governor, who led Tokyo’s Olympic bid, quit over a money scandal.
