Travel rush as Golden Week ends
People in Japan are packing stations and airports at the end of the country’s spring break.
The last week saw a series of national holidays known as Golden Week.
Hakata Station in western Japan was busy with people heading home or seeing families and friends off.
West Japan Railway says tickets to Osaka and Tokyo were fully booked.
One boy says he went to an amusement park and played in a river.
A girl says she doesn’t want the holidays to end.
At Narita airport near Tokyo, families could be seen lugging suitcases Tuesday morning.
A couple says they went to Taiwan and ate and slept most of the time.
Another couple says they wish they had more holidays.
Traffic jams on highways near Tokyo are expected to stretch 15-20 kilometers or longer until Tuesday evening.
