The crying Japanese assemblyman whose video went viral is being pressured to resign.

Last week, Hyogo assemblyman Ryutaro Nonomura generated worldwide attention for bursting into tears at a press conference.

The politician was trying to justify expenses of about 30-thousand dollars for almost 200 trips to hot spring resorts.

The Hyogo prefectural assembly today advised Nonomura to resign unless he could account for his dubious expenses.

Sources say Nonomura responded calmly and said he would keep the advice in mind.
