World Cup cuisine fun
Kids in Tokyo had their fill of a so-called World Cup menu today.
Their primary school in western Tokyo put together the World Cup menu to broaden the horizons of its students.
Students dug into Indian samosa, a meal often eaten in the Ivory Coast.
Japan’s national team faces Ivory Coast in its first match of the World Cup on June 15.
One boy says it was the first time he had eaten samosa and that he liked them.
Another boy says he wants to enjoy the food with his friends and cheer on the Japanese team.
The school hopes linking school lunches to nations competing in the World Cup will spark students’ interest in other countries.
