Nippon Television Network Corporation (the “Company”) has adopted the “Plan for Countermeasures to Large-Scale Acquisitions of Nippon Television Shares (Takeover Defense Measures)” with the approval of its shareholders obtained at the 73rd Ordinary General Meeting of Shareholders held on June 29, 2006, and it has established the Independent Committee for the Assessment of Corporate Value in accordance with the Plan. The Company hereby gives notice that the number of members of the current Independent Committee has been reduced to three members, namely, Messrs. Nobuo Yamaguchi, Hiroshi Maeda, and Seiji Tsutsumi, because of the passing away of Mr. Gaishi Hiraiwa, who was a member of the Independent Committee.

In addition, the Company has decided at its board of directors meeting held on May 17, 2007, to renew the "Plan for Countermeasures to Large-Scale Acquisitions of Nippon Television Shares (Takeover Defense Measures)," subject to shareholder approval at the 74th Ordinary General Meeting of Shareholders of the Company scheduled for June 28, 2007. The Company hereby also gives notice that the number of the expected members of the Independent Committee upon the renewal will be reduced to four members, namely, Messrs. Nobuo Yamaguchi, Hiroshi Maeda, Seiji Tsutsumi, and Takashi Imai.
