Long-Awaited Film 20th Century Boys -Chapter 3- Takes Top Spot at Japanese Box Office!!

On August 29th, the final installment of the science fiction/suspense trilogy 20th Century Boys, the largest Japanese film project, has been finally released in Japan to 374 screens. The third chapter earned $9 million (873,815,070 yen) from 677,063 admissions in its first two days, ensuring the biggest hit of the three installments. The Japanese distributor TOHO has announced that the film could go on to earn over $50 million.

Chapter 1: An ordinary man, Kenji, realized that a cult leader called "Friend" is trying to destroy the world, making things in the playful The Book of Prophecy Kenji wrote as a child into reality. He reunited with his old friends to fight against "Friend" and save the world. However, on December 31st, 2000, the day the world is set to end according to The Book of Prophecy, "Friend" succeeded in setting a bomb in Tokyo...

Chapter 2: Fifteen years later, in 2015, Kenji is missing. People believe that Kenji and his friends were the satanic terrorists behind the horrific act that took place in 2000. "Friend," on the other hand, is worshipped as the savior who stopped the doomsday plan. Having faith in Kenji, his niece Kanna decides to unveil the true identity of "Friend" while Kenji's friends try to protect her at all costs. Now, another chapter begins...
