Wednesday Drama "I'm Mita, Your Housekeeper."Already Set for Broadcast in Taiwan
Nippon Television Network Corporation (NTV) announced that episodes of its Wednesday drama "I'm Mita, Your Housekeeper." which will begin broadcast on October 12, 2011, will be broadcast on the Japanese channel of the Taiwan cable network Videoland Inc., just 17 days after the initial broadcast in Japan.
Of all the Japanese network dramas beginning broadcast from October, "I'm Mita, Your Housekeeper." will be the first serial drama to be broadcast overseas at such an early date.
Since Japanese dramas are typically broadcast overseas upon completion of the entire drama series in Japan, the announcement to broadcast "I'm Mita, Your Housekeeper." overseas at such an early stage, before even a single episode is ever aired in Japan, is groundbreaking, and an encouraging sign that this drama is a global attention-grabber.
The mysterious non-smiling, non-subservient, robot-like housekeeper featured in this unusual drama attempts to save a family on the verge of falling apart. It has been two years since actress Nanako Matsushima, who has achieved deep-rooted popularity in Asia, has starred in a serial drama. Because she undertakes a role very different from those she ordinarily plays, the working woman segment, which comprises a major portion of Videoland's viewers, is expected to show tremendous interest in Matsushima's latest role.
NTV intends to continue utilizing its worldwide content-creating capabilities to be among the first to deliver high-quality content that targets overseas markets.
