In 2020, we were able to win the annual individual viewer ratings Triple Crown title for the 10th consecutive year. We express our heartfelt appreciation for the support of all of our viewers and sponsors.
However, this year, the effect of COVID-19 cast a heavy shroud over society as a whole, greatly hindering business operations. Advertising revenue greatly decreased, and there were severe restrictions on our ability to produce programs and hold events, and on the use of facilities. Particularly because of these unprecedented times, we continually considered the question, "What can TV do for people now?" and to fulfill our responsibility to society as a media company, we made it our aim to provide accurate and trustworthy news and information programs, and entertainment that would bring smiles to people's faces and fill them with energy.
Being able to successfully broadcast the 43rd season of "24-Hour Television," our first time doing so during this "new normal," greatly increased our confidence.
We hope for your continued support as we and all the companies in the group, in addition to fulfilling our public role as a business by broadcasting and distributing high-quality content across multiple platforms, strive to operate in a way that enriches daily life, and as we continue to rise to the challenge of providing innovations that contribute to the creation and development of Japan's wonderful culture.
