We have been waiting for this great opportunity to partner with Atresmedia who is a powerful production company that is well known worldwide,” commented Miyata. “I still remember strongly when we first met each other at MIPTV in 2019. The producer of Atresmedia came to us and expressed how much they were passionate about producing their local adaptation of this series and we were very touched. We are thrilled that it will be streamed on their digital platform and then will air on their network. We look forward to this series being distributed internationally for the global audience.”
ABOUT HERIDAS
Returning to Spain after seven years of studying abroad, Manuela has decided to stay in a faraway town, and continue to keep a deliberate distance from her adoptive family in Madrid.
Traumatized by the wound of having been abandoned as a child by her biological mother, love for her has always entailed the threat of the wound being repeated, and so she always declared that she would never be a mother. But one night she finds little Alba in a garbage bag in which her mother has left her as a punishment. Without thinking about it, she kidnaps the girl and runs away with her, on a journey that will lead her to face her demons and become a mother.
ABOUT MOTHER
The heroine of this drama is a woman in her mid-thirties who has apathetically lived her life without interest in romance, society or even her own life. Working as an elementary school teacher, she learns that one of her students is being abused at home. Although unable to comprehend her sudden impulse, she decides to kidnap the young, abused girl to bring up as her own. During her life on the run, she re-examines her past lifestyle and searches for her path in life. Pivotal to this drama is the
word “maternal.” The heroine, who had never awakened to her own maternal side, discovers this instinct deep within herself. This drama portrays how this unexpected discovery stirs the feelings of hesitation and conflict, which help her to mature as both a woman and as a person.
