FIVB World Grand Champions Cup 2009 to be Distributed Worldwide
Nippon Television Network Corporation (NTV) will be the host broadcaster of the quadrennial international volleyball tournament FIVB World Grand Champions Cup 2009 held in Japan. As the event gets underway on Tuesday, November 10th, coverage will be broadcast to almost 100 countries on all major continents.
The World Grand Champions Cup 2009, in which national teams compete, is considered one of the most important events on the FIVB calendar as they feature the champions of each continent facing off to determine the "Grand Champions" of women's and men's volleyball. The women's event gets underway on November 10th with matches in Tokyo followed by Fukuoka, while the men's event starts on November 18th with games played in Osaka and Nagoya. NTV will provide full coverage of all 30 matches in both high and standard definition.
NTV, in partnership with Swedish-based IEC in Sports, will distribute an unprecedented level of coverage, while well-known broadcasters such as Eurosport will provide coverage across 54 European territories, Al Jazeera across 23 territories and TV Globo in Brazil.
